MDSM 107 - Journaling With Freeform

It's Cindy and I am bringing an oldie but a goodie back around. Bring up that Freeform Tool, add some shape to it and then add journaling text to it! If you can read what is in my sample text, it will give you some tips or suggestions. Capture the memory and tell a story of a special single photo!

 Challenge Guidelines:
  • Please create a new MDS project for the current challenge.
  • Provide a link back to MDS Monday or use the challenge graphic above within your post.
  • Link directly to your post or mydigitalstudio.net sample page for this challenge, not your entire website (So we can find your project)
  • You can create a card, scrapbook page or 3-D object with the sketch.
  • The Challenge will end on Saturday April 4th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

Weekly Winners MDSM106

It was so great to see everyone's pages this week!  I know we are all a little sad about the decision to discontinue our beloved MDS and so I am extra thankful for all of you who participated this week!  As I am sure you know, we at the MDS Monday site love MDS and so we hope that you will continue to participate in the weeks to come!  Onto the weekly picks!

 Here are this week's picks:

Wendie Waldman

I just loved Wendie's tribute page and we all have to admit that we got a little emotional when we saw it.  We are always inspired by Wendie's pages and are so glad that we can offer inspiration too!  I love the stamp and pennant from the Convention Photobook download that Wendie used, as well as her use of colors.

Tanya Harvey
Tanya's Stamps & Things

Tanya turned the sketch on its side and it works just great tor these fun family photos.  Her colors choices work just great with the pictures and I love that font as well.

Diane Malcor
MyDiane Designs

Diane's page is giving me hope that spring is here.  We got some snow again yesterday in Illinois but I can see the first bits of tulips pushing up through the ground.  I love Diane's embellishments and pretty paper choices.

Thanks to everyone who participated!
Be sure to come back tomorrow for our new challenge!

MDSM 106 - Beth's Turn

Happy Monday!  This is Tami, and before we get to Beth's sketch for this week, I just wanted to say a few words about last week's announcement from Stampin' Up! to stop supporting the My Digital Studio software effective May 31, 2015.  It goes without saying that all the designers at MDS Monday are extremely sad about this decision.  We obviously love the program and adore using it.  We are still in the process of determining what we'll do with this site, including future challenges and how long we'll keep it going.  In the meantime, we are exploring options for alternative digital software, printing, and backing up MDS content, projects, and software.  We plan to share this information during upcoming weeks.  So please stay tuned, and continue to enjoy the weekly challenges for as long as we can still use MDS.

Beth has a great sketch for us this week.  It works well for any number of photos, as you can see from our examples.  We can't wait to see what you create!

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday March 28th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

Weekly Winners MDSM105

Thanks so much for playing along with my challenge this last week!  While I loved all the entries, and you guys made it so hard to choose a winner, choose I did....

 Here are this week's picks:

Diane Malcor

I love the bright, fun colours Diane used for her page... I also adore the way she used one picture across both photo boxes!  Just a gorgeous page Diane!

Springtime - MDSM105

Wendie's layout just completely epitomized spring.  The colours combined with the pictures were absolutely perfect... so soft and delicate, fresh and new... Congrats Wendie!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for our new challenge! We will also have some information regarding what to do now that Stampin' Up has announced the discontinuation of My Digital Studio effective May 31st.

MDSM 105 - Spring!

Hi Everyone!  It's Anita, and welcome to another MDS Monday!  I thought for today that we would try to focus on Spring!  For some of us, we have had Spring-like weather for awhile now, and for others?  Well.... not so much!  But this week, I've got this simple sketch for you, and as an added challenge, I want you to incorporate something SPRING.  It can be the colour scheme, some Spring-y type stamps or embellishments, but the one thing you MUST have is a flower or plant or SOMETHING that grows!  I'd love to see what you can come up with.

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday March 21st @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

MDSM104 - Sale-A-Bration Inspiration

Happy Monday! Jeanna here with your sketch for this week. I'll be honest with ya - I look for inspiration everywhere, but my MAIN source for most of my inspiration is the talented designers that work so hard creating samples for Stampin' Up! - the Concept Artists. They are a talented group of designers that ALWAYS inspire me.

One of the first samples I fell in love with in the Sale A Bration catalog was a scrapbook page on page 5 of the catalog. Of course the sample is done with the traditional products that you can earn for free, but the sketch is so clean and simple! Here is my take on the sketch -

  • The Challenge will end on Saturday March 14th @ 12pm EST.
  • Have fun!

Weekly Winners for MDSM103

What a great batch of pages this week! I loved seeing all the different things you could do with a deceptively simple sketch.

 Here are this week's picks:

Sharon Maranich
Sharon's Inkie Fingers

I love how Sharon used the photo of the cacti as her background paper, it allows her to include an extra picture without compromising the other three.

Lorrie Gould
My Digital Studio

I love the colors Lorrie used, and that DSP strip looks like tire treads, just perfect for the Jeeps.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for our new challenge!
